Trends in Landscape Design.

Any work on the land does not begin until spring. Therefore, fall and winter are a great time to prepare. Already now you can start planning the future design of your site, think about changes and create projects. To begin with, it is worth studying trends in landscape design for 2023, choose the ones you like, and then decide whether to contact a designer or make a project on your own.
New trends in landscape design appear quite rarely. To trace the main trends, it takes several years. However, it is already clear what will be in fashion in 2023.

Minimalism has been one of the main design trends for several years now. It implies simplicity of forms, clarity of lines, and a lot of free space. At the same time, the plot does not have to be large: minimalism will allow you to visually “free” space even on a small plot.
The task of minimalism – to create a cozy space, which will not be superfluous. There are no bright multi-colored decorations, there is no goal to “outshine the neighbors”. The emphasis is on quality, not quantity. Natural materials and muted colors are chosen for finishing. This allows you to turn the garden into an island of tranquility, where you can enjoy nature, relax from the hustle and bustle of the outside world and be alone with yourself.

Scandinavian style is based on minimalism, so it too assumes clear forms and restrained colors. However, it also has distinctive features, among which are:

  • abundance of white and pastel colors,
  • stone and gravel paths,
  • hedges,
  • evergreens,
  • wood in all elements of decoration.

More and more people go out of town not only in the summer, but also throughout the year. Therefore, all-season garden decoration is becoming more in demand. It is better to choose evergreen conifers and deciduous plants, herbs, grasses, grasses, shrubs with beautiful bark and trees with colorful fruits. They will decorate the garden in the fall and winter, when the flowers are already hidden under the snow.

The desire to be closer to nature is also manifested in the choice of materials for decoration and furnishings. Ecological materials allow you to take care not only of the environment, but also of the health of the inhabitants. They contain a minimum amount of chemicals, do not emit toxic substances and at the same time look stylish and modern.

One way to add more greenery to a small plot is to replace a fence with a hedge. You’ll have to take care of it – growing, feeding, pruning – but the result is worth it. Green hedge looks beautiful from both sides, it does not have an unattractive “underside”, as many fences. It will clean the air, protect from dust and wind, and keep you cool in the heat of the day

Vertical gardening can also be used to grow more plants on a small plot. It saves space, decorates the front of the house or divides the garden into zones. For this purpose, climbing plants are used, boxes are hung on walls and vertical beds are created.

Small artificial ponds do not lose their popularity. But do not choose plastic containers for the pond: they quickly bloom and silt up, besides, they look unattractive. If there is enough free space – you can make a film pond of any desired shape and lay out the edges with natural stone. And as a compact option, it is better to choose a stylish water bowl, which will fit perfectly into a minimalist garden.

New in landscape design does not appear often, but this means that the site, created in accordance with modern trends, will not lose relevance for a long time. All trends have one thing in common – the desire for nature. It manifests itself both in the decoration and in the overall layout of the garden.
